Sikhism, like all religions, is very unique.
The 5Ks
You may be wondering what the 5Ks are. The 5Ks are:
-
Kesh: This means that you are not allowed to cut your hair, because it’s a gift from God.
-
Kara: A kara is a steel bracelet that you wear a steel bracelet in order to keep your bond with God.
-
Kanga: This means that you need to keep your mind and your body neat and tidy.
-
Kachha: Kachha is special underwear that Sikhs wear. It represents chastity (if you don’t know what that means, look it up in a dictionary or on Google.)
-
Kirpan: This is a small sword that Sikhs carry around, which symbolises the defence of good, amongst other things. But, today, they are carried around in the form of a keyring or a badge.
