Adjectives describe a noun (a person, object or place). For example, in the sentence “John was wet”, “wet” is the adjective in that sentence.
Finding the adjectives in sentences
This section will give you some examples on how to find adjectives in sentences. After that, you’ll get to try to find some adjectives yourself. Here is the first example sentence:
Matthew played with the ball.
In this sentence, “played” is the adjective because it describes a noun (ie. the ball.)
Sarah drove the car.
In this sentence, “drove” is the adjective because it describes a noun (ie. the car.)
